السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته أحسن الله إليكم a layman asked if he is sinful for not knowing how to recite the Qur‘an in arabic, but rather reading its translation بارك الله فيكم

If he is not able to, no, and he can easily learn hot read the qur'an so he should do his best in sha'a Allah.
