السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته احسن الله اليك استاذنا Is there a Sunnah prayer after assuming Ihrām? I mean: after the pilgrim or 'umrah-goer enters into Ihrām, is there a specific two rakʿahs prayer for that? جزاك الله خيرا

Imam Ibn Baz (may Allah have mercy on him) said: “According to the majority, it is Sunnah — according to most of the scholars, it is Sunnah — to pray two rak‘ahs before entering into ihram. However, there is no clear evidence for it. In fact, some scholars do not consider it a Sunnah. The matter is broad in scope and it is not an innovation. Whoever performs wudu, prays two rak‘ahs, and then enters ihram, there is no harm in that. And whoever enters ihram without the two rak‘ahs, there is also no harm. The matter in this is wide and flexible.”
