أحسن الله إليكم Sheikh, If I go to my friends house and his mother might be there and doesn't wear hijab. She might talk to me and offer me and my friend food. would it be permissible for me to go there if I stay in my friends room most of the time?

As long as u dont mix with her and gaze upon her etc. And i advise against anything that might lead to freemixing, but if there is none, then u can in sha'a Allah.
