أحسن الله اليك, Is a prayer hall established by a non-muslim university considered a masjid, where tahiyyat-al-masjid is wajib? I've heard that since it isnt established on muslim owned land or by muslims it doesn't fulfill the conditions of a masjid, so tahiyyat al masjid is not wajib in it.

From Fataawa al-Lajnah ad-Daa’imah (5/169): “A masjid (mosque) is a place that has been designated permanently for the five daily obligatory prayers and endowed (waqf) for that purpose. As for a musalla, it is a place that is used for occasional prayers such as the Eid prayers, funeral prayers, or others, and has not been endowed for the five daily prayers.
