I plan to open a coffee shop. Is it permissible to employ men and women together in one venue if modest dress and conduct rules are observed? If my own shop is single-gender, but I franchise to others who may mix genders, is my franchise income halal?

If you hire only men so that there is no free mixing, it is allowed, as for people coming to your cafe you have nothing to do with them, u don't control them may Allah reward you.
