السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته، احسن الله اليكم وغفرالله ولاهلك Shaykh, I will be travelling on a plane, and the plane starts taking off before the time for Fajr enters, and it lands after the time for Fajr. Am I allowed to pray the Fajr Salah on the plane, if yes, how should I perform it?

Imam Ibn Baz said: It is obligatory for a Muslim aboard an airplane, when the time for prayer arrives, to perform the prayer to the best of their ability. If they are able to pray standing, with proper bowing and prostration, they must do so. If they are unable, then they may pray while seated, indicating bowing and prostration with gestures. However, if there is a space on the plane where one can stand and prostrate on the ground rather than merely gesturing, then it becomes obligatory to pray there. This is based on the saying of Allah, the Exalted: “So fear Allah as much as you are able.” [At-Taghābun: 16]
