Imam Ibn Bāz said: As for the ḥadīth qudsī (sacred narration), it is speech attributed to Allah, which the Prophet ﷺ attributed to Allah. It is called a ḥadīth qudsī, meaning a narration from Allah – the Mighty and Majestic. It is also considered among the words of Allah, in both wording and meaning, just as if it is authentically reported from the Prophet ﷺ that he said: “Allah said such-and-such” – then it is regarded as the speech of Allah. This is the correct view: that both its wording and its meaning are from Allah.
