Ahsanallahu ilaykum Should a talib ilm cover his head with a kufi or a scarf or something like that? Is it better for a person who studies to ‘honor’ ilm?

Yes ofcourse you should honor ilm, it is our religion we should show high honor for it. As for covering the head it is mubah (allowed).
