Ahsanallahu ilaykum Why does Ibn Taymiyyah believe that the prophet pbuh saw Allah in a dream as a youth with His feet in green and gold shoes? I know it’s a Hadith from Umm Tufayl. Ahmad and other authenticated it and others didn’t . What do you say ya shaykh ?

Shaykh Ibn Bāz (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Shaykh al-Islām Ibn Taymiyyah (may Allah have mercy on him) and others mentioned that a person may see his Lord in a dream, but what he sees is not the true reality; because nothing resembles Allah, the Exalted. Allah says: “There is nothing like unto Him, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Seeing” [Ash-Shūrā: 11]. So, He is not similar to anything. A person may dream that his Lord is speaking to him, but whatever form or image he sees—whether in the form of a human or an animal—is not Allah, the Mighty and Majestic. For nothing resembles Him, He has no equal or likeness, Glorified and Exalted be He.
