Ahsanallahu ilaykum Ustadh, I finish Quran once a week. Is this the prevalent practice of the Salaf?

May Allah increase you in goodness, yes, there are even those that finish the quran in less may Allah bless u. Most people are busy with the dunya and you are busy with the Words of your Creator.
