السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته أحسن الله إليكم Since receiving a marriage proposal, I’ve struggled with my Iman and sinful thoughts. I’ve also prayed istikhārah. Could these struggles be a sign that the marriage isn’t good for me or that I’m not ready for marriage? جزاكم الله خيرا

Istikhārah is answered by what your heart settles on and what Allah makes easy, not by these struggles. If your heart turns away from the person, the Permanent Committee said to leave it. If you are content with his religion and character, consult trustworthy people, repeat the istikhārah if unsure, and whatever Allah then decrees is the good, as Shaykh Ibn Uthaymin said.
