My wife is a revert. She holds the surname of her mother. Her father has passed away. Is she obliged to change her surname to her fathers lineage as a revert? It was not her choice and she doesn't know what to do in this situation

Her lineage is to her father, and Allah Jalla wa ʿAlā says, the meaning of which is: call them by their fathers. So, she can change it to her father's.
