How to reach the level of the scholars while working a 9-5 or running a business? It seems as though no matter how hard I try I am always behind those who dedicate their whole days to studying. Do I leave work for a couple of years to become grounded? How many hours a day is needed? I’m confused

Study 3 hours a day and you can in sha'a Allah become a student of knowledge. As for your personal life, you know what is best for you may Allah reward you whether you can still make a living and study more.
