احسن الله اليكم People of bid‘ah cite the Sahabah touching the Prophet’s ﷺ minbar and Bukhari 5896 on his hair after his death. How do we respond, and what proves this tabarruk was specific to his lifetime? Excluding the Dhāt Anwāṭ hadith, which they say concerns imitating mushrikūn.

‎What touched the Prophet’s ﷺ‎ body, like his hair in this hadith, is particular to him and no one else is compared to him, and the proof is that the Companions never did it with Abu Bakr or Umar. Touching the minbar was a personal ijtihad of Ibn Umar that his father and the other Companions did not share, and the Permanent Committee said it cannot be used as proof.
