I live in the west and being homesick to live in a Muslim country causes daily depression. What do I do, it makes me confused on how to rely on Allah when simply my location has such a strong affect on my wellbeing. I can’t make Hijrah due to college studies currently.

‎Feeling sad because of where you live does not oppose tawakkul, because tawakkul is in the heart and does not contradict taking the means, as Shaykh al-Albani said. Imam Ibn Baz advised the one unable to make hijrah to fear Allah where he is and keep close to righteous Muslims, and for sadness he advised much dhikr and istighfar. The Prophet ﷺ‎ would say: Allahumma inni a’udhu bika min al-hammi wal-hazan (al-Bukhari).
