السلام عليكم ورحمة الله I have a sensitive gut (doctors call it IBS). If I eat certain foods like garlic, tomatoes, apples, oats, etc., I get unusual amounts of gas. Is my prayer valid if I pass gas, even if such cases are rare? Do I need to avoid food that might cause this issue?

If you are sure wind came out, your wudu and salah are broken, so hold it in if you can, and if not, make wudu and pray again. Only if it is continuous do you take the ruling of one with incontinence, making wudu after the time enters. If avoiding to eat these foods is better for your health, you can do so Allah knows best.
