احسن الله اليكم a known salafi ustadh who is upon the correct methodology and teaches frequently in the media scene outwardly professes his being a student to a certain shaykh. Can i then take knowledge from said shaykh while not knowing anything about said shaykh. جزاك الله خيرا

The Salaf said this knowledge is religion, so look at whom you take your religion from, and it is taken only from one known to be trustworthy and testified to for his knowledge. So find out this shaykh's condition from people of knowledge before you take from him.
