What is the ruling on a woman getting to know a marriage prospect without her wali, with her mother/sisters aware and present, and uncles involved at nikah? Her father passed away. Concerns: uncles spread private matters, repeated marriage difficulties/evil eye, and family gossip if it fails.

Her wali after her father is her paternal grandfather, then her sons, then her brothers, then her paternal uncles, and her mother is not a wali. Speaking with the suitor about the marriage is allowed without khalwa and in the presence of a mahram or her mother, as Imam Ibn Baz said, but the marriage is not done without her wali.
